Carsten Pieper I don't know, if that was intended by the artist, but this new offering appears to me to be a close sibling to The Mystic and the Mountain. Not exactly the same formula applied but similar in spirit, I think.
Meaning: Another very cinematic release, quite a stretch away from his blues roots. If you're planning to make a movie and you're still a soundtrack short, give him a call ;-) Favorite track: Old Forgotten Rituals.

Four thematically connected musical works utilising a spider bridge resonator guitar, nylgut strung open back banjo, porcelain slide on a nylon string guitar, amplified electric cello, single string cigar box fiddle, detuned acoustic bass, 22 inch frame drum, assorted 'forest' sticks, and a large seed husk shaker.

Drone and ambient FX created with electric cello and a recording of my vacuum cleaner 'sound designed' into a virtual instrument.

All instruments are 'first take' recordings, in an attempt to capture a rawness to the music that's sometimes lacking in computer based multitrack recording.
