It's Bandcamp Friday, and this month I've been working on a 'soundtrack for stargazing'. Resonator slide guitar backed by ambient strings played on an electric cello, 'Infinite Sky' is a 19 minute chilled out instrumental split into three parts, and like last month's release - there's not a synthesiser or virtual instrument to be heard anywhere.

The ambient strings were created using an electric cello through a TC Electronic Sub n' Up Octaver, and a Laney 'Secret Path' reverb pedal. No software instruments were used on this EP, just a steel bodied resonator guitar, and an electric cello.

The flac version of this sounds great in my truck... not a crunch, clip or boom to be heard. That, in itself, gets this major points. This is a lovely combination of early Floyd, U2 and a few San Francisco bands from the '60s with a heavy dose of Helmet tossed in. It's definitely best of breed when it comes to modern psych stuff. Even without a Hammond B3, it gets an easy A+... rick-taylor
